HEADLAND: In Headland Alabama last evening was the kick off of Harvest Night and Day.
On Friday on the square in Headland a concert. A large crowd and a great time echoed by those who attended.
Early this morning there was a run. I, Rickey Stokes, was on my way to Headland when Captain Chris Watson called for police officers to cut the roads for the run. I was challenging Headland Police Sgt. Aaron Sanders to the run but he was late so we could not run!!!!
But the other runners ran. I chose not to because it was time to show Sgt. Sanders up so there was no challenge for me!
A lot of food, music, fellowship, all through the day in Headland. A huge crowd gathered on the square.
Headland Police, Henry County Sheriff Deputies, Headland Fire - Rescue on hand to keep everyone safe.
Headland Fire - Rescue had to respond to a stroke patient ( not at Harvest Day ) and a motor vehicle accident. So they had a busy day.
The City of Headland purchased a ATV for Headland Fire - EMS for this and other events. A means to manuever in crowds and any terrain for persons injured and requiring medical response. It came in great for today as Headland Fire - EMS managed their medical and fire duties in the crowd.
A successful day.
