The Blanche R. Solomon Memorial Library in Headland will be hosting its annual Summer Reading Program during the month of June. This year, the library will be hosting events for both children (ages 4-12) and teens (entering grades 7th-12th).
The children’s event schedule is as follows:
-Wednesday, June 7 10:00 AM-11:00 AM: "Professor Whizzpop"
-Wednesday, June 14 10:00 AM-11:00 AM: "Lew-ee’s Comedy Circus"
-Wednesday, June 21 10:00 AM-11:00 AM: "Animal Tales"
-Wednesday, June 28 10:00 AM-11:00 AM: "We Are Better Together" with Gene Cordova
The teen event schedule is as follows:
-Thursday, June 1 10:00 AM-12:00 PM: Art with Artist Michael Albert
-Thursday, June 15 10:00 AM-11:30 AM: Flower Arrangement with Diann’s Flowers (Bring your own vase.)
-Friday, June 30 9:00 AM-4:00 PM: Movie Marathon Through the Decades
According to Library Director Caitlin Aplin, the top ten readers from each age division will be invited to a pizza party at the library.
Aplin said, "We are so excited about all of the fun things we have coming up at the library!"
