Henry County Officer-Involved Shooting This Week- Name Released

HENRY COUNTY, ALABAMA: At the request of the Henry County Sheriff's Office, Special Agents with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's State Bureau of Investigation launched an investigation into an officer-involved shooting, which involved officers with the Henry County Sheriff's Office.
The incident occurred on Tuesday at approximately 11:45 AM; it was the result of a pursuit that began in Eufaula with officers from the Eufaula Police Department and deputies from the Barbour County Sheriff's Office.
Eventually, the pursuit entered Henry County, and deputies with the Henry County Sheriff's Office responded to assist.
The pursuit continued into the city of Headland where the driver of the stolen vehicle ultimately crashed and brandished a firearm.
The suspect, later identified as Cameron Alan Eaton, age 33 of Blacksburg, South Carolina, was fatally wounded. No officers were injured during the course of the incident.
Nothing further is available as this investigation is ongoing.
Once complete, the findings will be turned over to the Henry County District Attorney's Office.
