HENRY COUNTY: A traffic stop in Henry County has resulted in the arrest of a starter player for Georgia Bulldogs.
Henry County Sheriff Deputy Paul Motzenbecker made a traffic stop on Highway 431 on a 2007 Dodge Charger. The vehicle was southbound. At the time of the traffic stop Deputy Motzenbecker smelled what appeared to be marijuana from the vehicle. The driver and passenger were removed from the vehicle and the vehicle searched. On searching the vehicle the deputy found a bag of marijuana wrapped up under the seat of the vehicle.
Both the driver and passenger were arrested and booked into the Henry County Jail for Possession of Marijuana, a misdemeanor offense. The time of the arrest was about 11:41 PM tonight.
The driver has been identified as Branden Smith and the passenger as Danze Woods, both of Atlanta Georgia. They were reported headed for the beach.
Branden Smith is a starter player for the Georgia Bulldogs.
Danze Woods was arrested last week by Henry County Sheriff Deputy Jesse Ingram for Possession of Marijuana. He was stopped as he traveled through Henry County and Deputy Ingram found marijuana on him. This makes his second arrest in less than a week.
