High-Speed Pursuit Leads to Arrest of Two Wanted Individuals in Holmes County

HOLMES COUNTY:On the evening of November 27, 2024, Holmes County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling southbound on Highway 81.
The driver refused to comply, accelerating and initiating a high-speed pursuit into Walton County.
During the pursuit, the suspect vehicle reached speeds exceeding 120 mph and drove into oncoming lanes of traffic, creating significant danger to other motorists.
The pursuit continued onto Rock Hill Road, where Walton County deputies deployed spike strips near the intersection of Rock Hill Road and Highway 331.
The fleeing vehicle then turned south onto Highway 331, where HCSO deputies executed a Precision Immobilization Technique (P.I.T.) maneuver, bringing the vehicle to a stop in the median.
Both the driver and passenger were taken into custody without further incident.
The driver, identified as Gregory Maynor, was found to have outstanding warrants and was in possession of several grams of methamphetamine. Maynor faces additional charges, including fleeing and attempting to elude law enforcement, reckless driving, possession of methamphetamine.
The passenger, identified as Mark Joseph Harris , also had outstanding warrants for their arrest.
Both individuals were transported to the Walton County Jail, where they await extradition to Holmes County.
