HOUSTON COUNTY - DALE COUNTY: About 8:30 PM Saturday evening when Lowndes County Sheriff Big John Williams was shot to death a call from the Alabama Sheriff Association for area Sheriff's to respond.
Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza, Coffee County Sheriff Dave Sutton, Dale County Sheriff Wally Olson and Dale County Sheriff Chief Deputy Mason Bynum were three area Sheriff's and a Chief Deputy that responded.
At 2:19 AM Sheriff Valenza called out of service at home.
Lowndes County is located between Montgomery County and Dallas County ( Selma ).
