Houston County Grand Jury Does Not Indict Anterica Danielle Mayfield

DOTHAN - HOUSTON COUNTY:    Just noticed in a post that was apparently posted on April 26, 2022, Kevin Saffold made a post critical of my self, Rickey Stokes and Dothan Police Department.


Saffold was referring to an apparent letter from the 20th Judicial District Attorney Office written April 26, 2022 addressed TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN.


The letter references Anterica Danielle Mayfield who was charged with Financial Exploitation of the Elderly, 2nd degree, in Houston County. The letter reads the case was presented to a Houston County Grand Jury and, and, therefore, no indictment was issued and the case was dismissed.


In Kevin Saffold's comments he refers to Anterica Danielle Mayfield as Anterica Lou Saffold.


Saffold states in his Facebook posts that "Dothan Police Department and Rickey Stokes News doesn't have the moral decency to offer an apology or clean up the lies they published".


Anterica Danielle Mayfield was a candidate for a position on the Dothan City Commission. RSN did a story which listed she was arrested on November 15, 2018 on the offenses Financial Exploitation of the Elderly in the second degree. ( 38-DC-2018-3858 ) and later the case number ( 38-CC-2019-788 ). The case, 38-CC-2019-788, reflected in the Alabama Unified Judicial System that Anterica Danielle Mayfield was indicted by a Houston County Grand Jury on 03/15/2019 on the offense Financial Exploitation of the Elderly in the 2nd degree. 


Then on October 28, 2021 on a motion from the 20th Judicial District Attorney Office the case was remanded back to a Houston County Grand Jury. The order of the court does not indicate why the case was remanded back to Grand Jury.


RSN has not monitored the case of Anterica Danielle Mayfield. and RSN does not monitor or care what Kevin Mayfield posts. This was called to my attention and Kevin Saffold and I do agree on one issue. The matter of the arrest was covered therefore if a Houston County Grand Jury failed to indict the defendant that deserves a story.


GRAND JURIES ARE secret bodies. What they do can be discussed. And indictments issued or cases no billed are a matter of secrecy. So thank you to Kevin Saffold for making it pubic to allow RSN to make it public.
