THIS ARTICLE IS DEDICATED TO MONTGOMERY COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY DARYL D. BAILEY and THE 12 MEN AND WOMEN IN DALE COUNTY ALABAMA WHO CONVICTED THE MONTGOMERY POLICE OFFICER OF MANSLAUGHTER.

Former Montgomery Police Officer Aaron Cody Smith, shot and killed 59 year old Gregory Gunn on February 26, 2016 somewhere around 3 AM. 

Officer Smith was age 22. He was in a area of town where there were a lot of burglaries and Gunn was walking at 3 AM. After Officer Smith stopped Gunn and frisked him down, Gunn is reported to have ran.

Officer Smith gave chase. Officer Smith perceived his life was in danger and used deadly lethal force.

Montgomery County District Attorney said 22 year old Officer Smith as a "bully with a gun" and had years to think of what Officer Smith did. Officer Smith had s-e-c-o-n-d-s to make a decision. And that decision is what every law enforcement has to encounter, just like what happened in Hunstville described below.

If the Montgomery County District Attorney gets a threat he will want law enforcement to protect him and place their life on the line to protect him. Based on the District Attorney's actions, the Sheriff and Chief of Police should let him be man enough to protect himself and pull all security from the Montgomery County District Attorney Office.

Officer Smith sits in jail awaiting his sentence from the Judge.

NOW, I stand firm, the Montgomery County District Attorney prosecuted this officer for one reason and one reason alone... it was portrayed as a white officer shooting a black man who was unarmed. And there was a march. So the District Attorney played to the public sentiment.

Mr. Gunn, probably did not deserve to die. However a stick can cause striking the officer can cause the officer to become disabled and allow him to be overpowered. It was a crime neighborhood and Mr. Gunn had cocaine in his system.

And the Dale County Jury, sorry folks, but you sent a chilling decision to the men and women on the streets protecting you at 3 AM. 

In no way did Officer Cody set out to kill a man, white or black, and was not a bully with a badge.

But the District Attorney is a DUMMY WITH A LAW DEGREE who used 22 year old Montgomery Police Officer Aaron Smith as a political sacrifice for himself.

HUNTSVILLE AL:    A man has been charged with attempted murder for allegedly shooting at a Huntsville police officer answering a Thanksgiving night call about a suspicious person parked on a west Huntsville road. The officer was not injured.

Police reports say the officer had responded to a disturbance call on a road near Triana Boulevard and Westmill Drive. The officer found a man later identified as 65-year-old Troy Lynn Lewis sitting in a car and possibly under the influence of alcohol, police said. When the officer returned to the patrol car to await backup, police say Lewis pulled a pistol out of his pants pocket and fired six rounds at the officer, giving the officer no time to do anything but seek cover. One round hit the open driver’s door of the patrol car.
