ABBEVILLE: Abbeville Mayor Elect Jimmy Money is my kind of a guy.
Mayor Elect Jimmy Money kicked butt in the Abbeville Municipal elections. And it started because elected officials were jerks and flexed their muscles at Jimmy Money.
Mayor Elect Jimmy Money in 2019 was just Abbeville resident - Abbeville businessman Jimmy Money. He owned a restaurant, working in Abbeville to provide jobs and make a living.
In downtown Abbeville along the main street are trees. The trees are nice and provide a pretty setting along the main street in Abbeville.
In 2019, again Abbeville resident and businessman Jimmy Money appeared before those sitting on the throne, the Abbeville City Council, asking them to do something about the trees against the awning in front of his business. The several times Mr. Money appeared, the Abbeville Mayor and Town Council members did nothing. As most elected officials do, NOTHING.
Finally having enough of inaction and the trees damaging the front of his business, Mr. Money cut the tree. That was done on or about March 2, 2019.
The City of Abbeville initiated a criminal case against Abbeville resident/Abbeville businessman Jimmy Money. The incident occurred on March 2, 2019 and the case was initiated on May 1, 2019 according to court records.
Mr. Money was arrested on the offense of Criminal Mischief in the first degree, a felony. Well everyone scattered in Houston and Henry County. Recusal motions flew faster than a speeding bullet in the 20th Judicial Circuit.
A special District Court Judge was brought in on the case, State of Alabama ( City of Abbeville ) verses Jimmy D. Money on the felony offense of Criminal Mischief in the first degree. The special District Court Judge, L. Cooper Rutland ( never heard of him or her ) was the special Judge. Dothan Criminal Defense Attorney Derek Yarbrough of Motley, Motley and Yarbrough represented Mr. Money.
On November 16, 2019, following a Preliminary Hearing in District Court before the special appointed Judge, the case was dismissed.
The only two witnesses listed in the court system in the District Court case, Abbeville Mayor Billy Helms and James Bradley, currently Interim Police Chief for Abbeville Police Department.
Upset over the actions of the Abbeville Mayor and Abbeville Town Council, and after seeing how government "does nothing", Mr. Jimmy Money threw his hat in the ring to seek election as Mayor of Abbeville.
BUT THAT DID NOT STOP THE SPECIAL PROSECUTOR WHO RODE HIS DONKEY FROM MONTGOMERY IN THE NAME OF JUSTICE...
Mr. Patrick Lamb from the Office of Prosecution Services in Montgomery Alabama came all of the way to Henry County Alabama. Mr. Lamb presented a case to the Henry County Grand Jury.
On August 13, 2020, the man who rode his donkey from Montgomery, Mr. Patrick Lamb, some 9 months following the dismissal of the case in District Court, got a Henry County Grand Jury to issue a two count indictment against now Abbeville Mayor candidate Jimmy Money.
MAYOR PRIMARY ELECTION DATE WAS AUGUST 25, 2020
INDICTMENT WAS AUGUST 13, 2020
INDICTMENT 12 DAYS BEFORE THE ELECTION DATE
NINE MONTHS AFTER DISTRICT COURT DISMISSED THE CASE
Mr. Jimmy Money kicked the buttocks of the incumbent mayor, Billy Helms and former Mayor Jim Giganti. He was in a run off election with a Mr. Grimsley.
Interim Abbeville Police Chief James Bradley arrested the Mayor Candidate on September 15, 2020.
Again, recusal motions flew faster than Talladega cars run on the racetrack! A special Judge has been appointed, Judge P.B. McLaughlin for the felony cases against now Mayor Elect Jimmy Money.
Mayor Elect Jimmy Money defeated the current Mayor and a lot of the sitting Abbeville Council members before August 13 will be in the history books and not on the sitting Abbeville Town Council in a few weeks.
HOW DOES THINGS SIT NOW
People can say what they want to. But Jimmy Money seeking election as Mayor and getting elected is a great thing. I personally love it when those who sit in office and think they are royalty and mistreat business people get their buttocks kicked.
One day in the City of Dothan we will hopefully get someone that will do that to the Planning and Zoning and business license dork we have in Dothan. So far everyone has had a yellow streak down their spines and does nothing to these two who kill more businesses and causes more heart ache then any two dummies in the City of Dothan government. So Mr. Jimmy, I LOVE IT!
It is not a coincidence the indictment was returned on August 13 and election was August 25. While not arrested on the indictment until September 15, you know a small town.
But guys, your con did not work. The registered voters of Abbeville Alabama heled Mr. Money place his foot right square between your buttocks, FIRMLY and SOLID.
Unless Mr. Money is found guilty of a felony, he will be the Mayor. And he will be the Mayor until which time this case goes to a jury. And the way COVID has been, that could be after his four years as Mayor.
AS TO INTERIM POLICE CHIEF JAMES BRADLEY
If Bradley hollers when he is not made Chief of Police of Abbeville Alabama and in any way, shape, form or fashion tries to implicate in any way he does not get Chief of Police because of this case, DO NOT BELEIVE IT.
The City of Abbeville has got to make a selection for Abbeville Police Chief, like yesterday. The department is in shambles, people quit before they start. The Henry County Sheriff Department has had to answer their calls. There has got to be a change, quickly.
It has nothing to do with this case against the Mayor Elect. It has to do with leadership and the ability to manage the department effectively.
CONGRATULATIONS TO JIMMY MONEY.
And to Patrick Lamb ... stay in Montgomery, you are not welcome in Henry County. Alabama.
