HOUSTON COUNTY:     This evening James Ivey announced that he will be a candidate for Houston County Commissioner - District 4.

James Ivey is a Houston County native and graduate of Wicksburg High School. While James Ivey has worked in service businesses like grocery stores over his years, he has worked for Houston County Sheriff Department for the past 20 years.

James Ivey serves as a Captain with Houston County Sheriff Department. James Ivey commands Detention Division ( Jail ) and Communications Division. The Jail has a Commander, James Brazier who handles day to day activities. Brazier reports to Captain Ivey.

The election for Houston County Commission Chairman and Houston County Commissioners will be in 2022. It is the same time as Governor election time. A County Commissioner serves four years.

James Ivey wants to serve the citizens and move the county forward.

Qualifying will be in January 2022.
