Beth Kenward is entering the race for the special election for Dothan City Commission, District 5. Kenward’s announcement will be held at the Dothan City Commission Chambers on November 18th, 2014 at 1:15pm CST.

Kenward’s campaign will primarily focus on keeping the momentum of the economic development of our city running as it specifically relates to District 5. She feels communication to Dothan’s citizens about the city’s opportunities for development in District 5 and citywide is crucial to gaining support for continued economic growth. “I live in Distrist 5 and have a vested interest in making sure my neighbors are well informed and have input on all legislative issues that pertain to our part of the Dothan community,” says Kenward. Uniting people toward a common goal and bridging gaps is a well-developed skill Beth has demonstrated consistently in our community. Whether by fundraising for the city’s non-profit organizations, directing teams of volunteers, or spear heading city events, her leadership is evident in her actions. Beth is a polished communicator whose has the ability to speak to any audience.

It has been my please urge to know Beth Kenward for over five years. In January 2013, as owner/publisher of Dothan Magazine, I chose Beth as one of Dothan's 40 under 40. Beth was honored for being one of Dothan's brightest young leaders of today and tomorrow. Having personally served with Beth in numerous service organizations, committees and Chamber of Commerce teams I have yet to see her pass on an opportunity to serve. She is a natural leader in helping better other peoples lives!” says Patrick Leister.

Beth Kenward is no stranger to Dothan’s political arena. She is currently serving as Vice President of the Houston County Republican Women and a member of the Houston County Executive Committee. Her community involvement through volunteering to head numerous community projects, serving on local boards, membership in multiple civic organizations, and enthusiastic philanthropy makes her the kind of public servant the City of Dothan needs.  Beth is an active part of the Harvest Church Worship Team and enjoys volunteering on Sunday mornings to lead worship.
