Last Weeks Stand-Off with Police Ends with Subject in Custody

On 5/09/2020 just before midnight, Dothan Police Officers were dispatched to a disturbance in the 1600 block of Verde Trail.  When Officers arrived, Sergio Romero-Ontiveros retreated in the residence and barricaded himself in a bedroom upstairs. 


After more than three hours of negotiations, Romero-Ontiveros exited the room where he was taken into custody.  Due to the nature of the case, no other information about the offense will be released.  The investigation is ongoing with more charges possible.


Sergio Romero-Ontiveros (37) of Dothan was charged with Sexual Abuse 1st degree and is being held without bond.
