Major Structure Fire at Howard Johnson in Dothan

Dothan – 11:25am Dothan Comm Center has dispatched Dothan Fire to a structure fire at 2244 Ross Clark Circle Howard Johnsons Motel. Reports are heavy flames visible. Engine 2, Engine 3, Engine 4, Truck 1, Battalion 2 are all on scene. Upon units arrival they found heavy flames visible. They made an aggressive attack on the fire. The fire was majorly in the room over the drive through awning. Truck 1 was setup to do arial operations while crews were doing an interior attack on the fire. Battalion 2 was commanding the scene. Battalion 2 requested additional engine for man power but never had to use them. Engine 5 just staged with their engine until being released. Deputy Chief 2 was on scene and was in charge of operations. Deputy Chief 1 and Dothan Fire Chief also responded to the scene. Crews battled the blaze for about 30 minutes before bringing it under control. All occupants of the structure were accounted for. Dothan Fire will be on scene for a while longer managing hot spots. It is unknown what started the fire. No injuries were reported.
