Major STUPID - STUPID - STUPID Slap To Commissioners, Especially Albert Kirkland and Taylor Barbaree Today

DOTHAN:  Today the Dothan City Commission held a public hearing during the commission meeting about weeds. The weeds were at Cottonwood Corners at Cottonwood and Ross Clark Circle.

Apparently someone is arguing about the trees in the back of the property. Commissioner Albert Kirkland, Commissioner of District 3, said he had some complaints.

Speaking for the development Attorney Ed Price  explained the issues. Also Chamber President Matt Parker explained the issues.

Here is the problem, Commissioner Albert Kirkland and Commissioner Taylor Barbaree said well, you are in violation of the weed ordinance and we do not need to let them do this.

This message is to Commissioner Albert Kirkland and Commissioner Taylor Barbaree…read very carefully gentleman!

First, Albert, you did not one single time go try and save a business in your district. You did not put forth one single effort when Pig Out BBQ was forced to close by the City of Dothan. Neither did $ 160,000.00 City Manager. You did not give one rat’s butt about the 5 people who lost their jobs.

You never checked on any of these 5 people to see if they needed any food for their children or clothes for their children since you caused them to get lose their job. You never cared one bit. You never tried to resolve the issues. What a shame!

Now you fuss about Cottonwood Corners and bring them before the commission.  Bring them before the commission like you are some royalty. That shopping center looks pretty good, and guess what, people are working. Working in you district.

But you would not get off your simple butt and try to save jobs by talking to Pig Out. But you order the owners of the shopping center to come before you 7 royal masters to answer your question.

Commissioner Taylor Barbaree…you have allowed the City of Dothan to put a junk yard at the entrance to Westgate Park, the city showcase. Look at what the members of Westgate Church of Christ have to see every time they go to and leave church. This is your district. Look what the travelers have to look at with the junk cars parked at the Armory. It is a disgrace. And guess what bubba…you 7 are responsible for the junk yard and trashy look.

For you two men to make the comments and order the developers of Cottonwood Corners to come before you… clean up the city property first, try to save jobs, then act high and mighty.

And About the $ 75,000 job today

You have slapped the Dothan Police Chief and Dothan Fire Chief now twice in the outrageous pay that YOU have given to the General Services Director and now the EEO guy.

What a slap to the Police Chief and Fire Chief. No reasonable person in their right mind can justify that a EEO Officer should be paid $ 75,000.00, PLUS BENEFITS for that job. Where in the sam hill are your minds?

You know the Police Chief and Fire Chief were recently critical of me.  And I did not appreciate what was going on and being said. I made it clear to them my thoughts.

But even after that, I am fighting for them, because you and the others have done the people of this city, the employees of this city, a disservice in the outrageous salaries you have paid in the past two positions. What a slap to these two men in the responsibility they have, and your paying these other positions such outrageous sums of money.

You need a reality check…$ 75,379.20 a year, plus benefits for someone who manages NO ONE SINGLE PERSON!
