Man Arrested for Firing Shots at Residence

JACKSON COUNTY: On Saturday, March 4, around 11 p.m. deputies responded to the area of the Hope School Apartments in reference to a shooting in the area. Witnesses told deputies that they saw a black male shooting a gun nearby. When deputies located the suspect, later identified as Reubin J. Ford, Jr., he dropped a semi-automatic pistol on the ground and attempted to flee.
After deputies restrained the suspect, they found the handgun that contained one magazine with 11 rounds. Deputies used a recording from a doorbell camera to determine that Ford shot ten times towards vehicles and other homes. Throughout the course of the investigation, it was also determined that Ford had eight prior felony convictions.
Ford is being charged with Resisting Arrest without Violence, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, Improper Exhibition of Dangerous Weapons or Firearms and Discharging a Firearm in Public.
