Man Assaults Victim with Knife

DOTHAN ALABAMA :On Friday, September 8, 2023, at approximately 6:45 PM, officers responded to the 500 block of Chinook Street for an edged weapon assault. Officers arrived and found the victim in the yard of a residence bleeding from lacerations on the face, forearm, and abdomen. Officers learned the victim and suspect were involved in a verbal altercation during which time the suspect used a steak knife and stabbed the victim several times. The suspect, who was identified as 23-year-old Davonta Bryson McCree, had left prior to officers’ arrival. McCree was located moments later walking down the roadway with the steak knife in his possession. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of their non-life-threatening injuries.


McCree was charged with one count of Assault First Degree. His bond was set at $60,000.00.
