Marianna Couple Arrested on Drug Trafficking

MARIANNA FLA: On Sunday August 4, 2024, shortly after midnight, an officer with the Marianna Police Department was patrolling the area of Clay Street when the officer observed a silver in color Toyota Camry traveling east on Clay Street. The vehicle made sudden evasive maneuvers to avoid the officer by quickly turning down another street. The officer followed the vehicle, and noticed the vehicle was being operated with some faulty equipment. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle at the intersection of Old Cottondale and Harley Drive.
Upon contact with the driver, Robin Sims identified by his Texas Driver’s license, a strong odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle.
A probable cause search was conducted on the vehicle, and yield the discovery of a trafficking number of pills. Officers located 49 pills of Oxycodone which weighed total package weight of 26.3 grams, 50 pills of Alprazolam (XANAX) which weighed a total package weight of 17.5 grams, and a total of 208 Hydrocodone pills which weighed a total package weight of 111.9 grams.
Sims and his front seat passenger, Ashley Griffin, were both placed under arrest and transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await First Appearance.
