The year 2020 has brought to us a different life style and culture that we may not see the change from for some time. Even in a pandemic that has controlled and disrupted the world, people have come together to help one another. In our Country, The United States of America and in our Communities here in the Wiregrass, many organizations and residents have worked to adjust and become stronger and to ensure safety for the public. On the front lines is our Law Enforcement, Firefighters / Emergency Medical Services, 911 Communication Centers, Health Care Workers and Military. These people place their and their families’ livelihoods in harms way everyday to ensure our freedoms, safety and protection.

This day, Friday September 11, 2020, let us pause and bow our heads to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice so many years ago during a disastrous and hard time that devastated our Country. We came together and re-built our Nation illustrating patriotism. Today, remember we have dedicated men and women who love our Country and have dedicated themselves to serving our Communities in Public Safety. We will, as we did then,  overcome these challenges and become more united than ever before.

Please, as you encounter those in these fields, express an appreciation and a thank you.  Unless you have stood in their boots or marched side by side with them or being a member of their families, you will never truly understand what they go through and the efforts they delivery because of passion and a calling to a mission.

For nearly 22 years, I have been a part of Public Safety wearing the boots, instructing it, and being an advocate for those within in it.  To those in Health Care, Fire/EMS/911 and the Military, as well as, to volunteer organizations and the public, I bow my head and give thanks for you and pray GOD will continue to Bless and watch over you with the growing experience and knowledge to better serve our Communities and our Nation. Following the amen, I then stand tall with head up and salute you with pride knowing your dedication is truly a gift from above making this the greatest Nation on Earth.

Again, please do more than just say it - show it.  Support these brave souls who protect you even when you do not know it and answer the call when you are in need.  It is a dangerous, expensive and “thankless” calling in life.

Thank you to all our first responders, Volunteers and Military members. May God watch over and Bless you and your families.

And may GOD bless Dothan / Houston County, Alabama and the Wiregrass Area and God Bless the United States of America.

Be Safe.
