FROM HENRY COUNTY SHERIFF ERIC BLAKENSHIP
Let me begin by saying how truly blessed we are in Henry County. With a storm as big and powerful as Helene these were some of the worst pics from the storm in our county.
Our Thoughts and Prayers go out to the other communities throughout Florida/Georgia/South Carolina who weren’t as fortunate. We ask that you continue to pray for the safety of the law enforcement, fire & rescue, and the power crews as they work around the clock over the next several days and weeks in those damaged areas.
I can’t thank my staff enough for their hard work that went into the storm preparations. Lt. Behringer coordinated everything with our EMA, County Road & Bridge, Dispatch, and Local Police to ensure we had a plan. He along with Lt. Elkins had both our divisions of Patrol and Investigations ready throughout the night to assist our citizens. Even though their services weren’t used much throughout the storm we will still chalk this up as great training so we will be even more prepared for the next storm we face here in Henry County.
I say this often but I’m extremely Blessed as a Sheriff to have such a great staff who truly love the community they Serve & Protect! I hope everyone has a Great Friday and a Great Weekend- Sheriff Eric Blankenship.
