BONIFAY FLA:On January 31, 2024, deputies with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a UHaul vehicle with only one working tail light. Contact was made with the driver, Laura Biggs, who was found to have an active warrant out of Washington County.

During the stop, a Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputy arrived to assist. A WCSO K9 performed a free air sniff around the vehicle and gave a positive alert to the presence of illegal narcotics. All occupants were removed from the vehicle and a probable cause search was conducted.

The search revealed a bag containing marijuana and a pipe with burnt marijuana that passenger Rita Jordan claimed to be hers. A jacket containing another pipe and multiple burnt marijuana cigarettes was determined to belong to Biggs. During a search of each of their persons, both Biggs and Jordan were found to be in possession of methamphetamine.

Deputies then located Shane Coker asleep in the back of the vehicle. Located near him were two bags containing a glass pipe and methamphetamine.

Laura Biggs, Rita Jordan, and Shane Coker were arrested and transported to the Holmes County Jail. Biggs, in addition to the outstanding warrant, and Jordan are each charged with possession of marijuana less than 20 grams, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Coker is charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
