On Monday, May 22, drainage work will begin at New Brockton’s downtown park on John Street.

Mayor Ralph Medley is asking people to avoid using this route.

In addition to this, the park will also be closed during this construction phase which could last until the middle of June.

The mayor hopes that the work being done will allow for the purchasing of new playground equipment and other improvements to the facility, which is 50 years old.

There will be an announcement when the park is reopened and the construction is complete.
