HOLMES COUNTY, FLORIDA: On November 7, deputies with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was towing another vehicle with no tail or break lights near the intersection of Highway 179 and Highway 2. Contact was made with the occupants of the first vehicle and the driver of the vehicle being towed, Kevin Edwards of Newton, Alabama.
During the stop, K9 Buck conducted a free air sniff of the vehicles and gave a positive alert to the presence of illegal narcotics.
Edwards consented to a search of his person, at which time he took a hypodermic syringe and baggie of methamphetamine out of his pocket.
A subsequent search of his vehicle, of which he was the sole occupant, also revealed a glass pipe.
Kevin Edwards was arrested and taken to the Holmes County Jail and charged with possession of methamphetamine.
The individuals in the other vehicle were released from the scene.
