On May 5, 2019 Dothan Police Officers responded to a report of a person down call in the 1800 block of Montgomery Highway. They arrived to find 29 year old Kevin Le Monkman unconscious on the ground. 40 year old Carla Dawn Meeker was in company of Monkman.

Officers made contact with Monkman who was lying on the ground. Officers attempted to render assistance and Monkman became combative. The officers believed Monkman to be under the influence of drugs. During the struggle with Monkman one officer suffered a fractured leg and dislocated knee. Another officer suffered a broken hand. Both officers were treated at SouthEast Health for their injuries. Monkman also received treatment for minor injuries on scene.

Kevin Le Monkman was taken to the city jail after his treatment and was formally booked late yesterday afternoon. He was charged with two counts of Assault 2nd Degree and has bonds totaling $30,000.00.

Carla Dawn Meeker was charged with one count of Obstructing Governmental Operations.

All persons are innocent until proven guilty.
