One Arrested on Multiple Charges in Holmes County

BONIFAY - On March 16th, deputies with the Holmes County Sheriff’s office conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Hwy 79 and Michigan Ave. Contact was made with the driver, Hector Gomez, of Enterprise, AL. During the stop, Gomez granted consent for deputies to search a backpack in his possession. In the bag, deputies discovered a small amount of marijuana, a baggie of methamphetamine, a glass pipe, marijuana grinder, 49 live rounds of ammunition. Gomez was also holding another container of methamphetamine.
A probable cause search of the vehicle produced a baggie containing cocaine, two additional baggies of marijuana, individually packaged baggies of methamphetamine, a set of scales, and two containers with crystal-like residue.
Gomez, a convicted felon, was also found to be in possession of a loaded revolver.
Hector Gomez was arrested and transported to the Holmes County Jail. He is charged with felon in possession of a firearm/ammunition, trafficking methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana less than 20 grams, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
