Panama City Man Arrested on Drug Charges

BONIFAY - On March 22, deputies with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 79 near Son-In-Law Rd. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Zachary Hughes of Panama City.


During the stop, K9 Lasso conducted a free air sniff of the vehicle and gave a positive alert to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a glass jar containing marijuana, and a baggie of methamphetamine.



Hughes was arrested and taken to the Holmes County Jail. He faces charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of marijuana less than 20 grams.
