On June 18, 2024 at approximately 1922 hours, The Houston County Communication Center dispatched units to 377 Tifton Road, Gordan, AL in reference to a Firearm Assault.

Houston County Sheriff Deputies, Ashford and Cottonwood Officers responded.  Ashford EMS was also dispatched to render medical aide.

An Ashford Police Officer was one of the first to arrive on scene. It was determined during 911 calls the suspect was identified as Travis Dickson (BM, 42 years old) and fled the scene in a red Dodge Charger. The Officer with Ashford PD observed the red Charger.  The Officer attempted to perform a traffic stop. However, the vehicle eluded the Officer.  Speeds reached 130 MPH and the Ashford Officer lost contact with the vehicle.

Deputies and Officers arrived on scene quickly and deemed it safe for Rescue to render aide.

Two victims were identified.  One female that was in a relationship with Mr. Dickson had been shot in the upper region of her leg.  A female juvenile had been shot in her abdomen.

Both victims were transported by Ashford Rescue to SE Health.

During the investigation, it was also determined that Dickson set a fire within the victim's residence while it was occupied by family members.

Dickson fled the Gordon area to Greentree Apartment in Headland, AL.  He abandoned the red Charger at the apartment complex.

He obtained a silver 2018 Chevrolet Cruze and a cell phone from his friend who lives in the apartments.

Near midnight of June 18, he fled the area and traveled to Tallahassee, FL.  On June 19, units from Tallahassee PD located the Chevrolet Cruze abandoned in an apartment complex located at Magnolia Drive.

At this time, Travis Dickson has active arrest warrants.  Two Counts of Attempted Murder, One Account of Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling, and one Count of Arson I.
