JACKSON COUNTY, FL On July 23, 2022, at approximately 7:00 p.m., a deputy with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) was conducting proactive patrol in the area of 71 South and Magnolia Bridge Road when he observed a vehicle with faulty equipment.

A traffic stop was initiated, and the deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Christopher Danielle Williams of Chipley, who was visibly distressed. A narcotics K-9 was deployed to do a free air sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the odor of narcotics emitting from within the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle revealed a box inside a backpack containing a white powdery substance and a crystal-like substance that both field tested presumptive positive for cocaine and methamphetamine. One of the passengers, identified as Amy Finch of Chipley, had been holding the bag between her legs in the truck and advised the deputy that the backpack was hers, but the box was not.

Finch was placed under arrest and the driver stated he had no idea what Finch had in her backpack. A clear, plastic straw that had a white powder residue inside both ends of the straw was also located in the vehicle, and field tested presumptive positive for cocaine.

Amy Finch was charged with Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Methamphetamine. Christopher Danielle Williams was placed under arrest and was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Sheriff Edenfield is proud of the JCSO deputies who continue to proactively patrol our county and locate criminal activity.
