Sawyer announces candidacy for Circuit Judge Seat

DOTHAN: Holly L. Sawyer, attorney at law, formally announces her run for Circuit Court Judge for Houston and Henry Counties. Sawyer, a Republican, seeks to fill the seat that will be vacated by the retirement of the Honorable Larry Anderson.  The Republican Primary is May 24, 2022.

Sawyer is hosting a campaign kickoff event at her office located at 294 West Main Street, Suite 103 in Dothan on June 16, 2021 from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m., with the announcement being made at 8:00 a.m.  All are invited to attend.

Sawyer has been in private practice for 15 years beginning in 2005 as an associate and then partner at Lewis, Brackin, Flowers, Johnson & Sawyer, and in 2019 she opened The Law Office of Holly L. Sawyer.  Sawyer’s broad legal experience includes general litigation representing plaintiffs and defendants, business organization, probate, family law, and mediation.

Sawyer is a Martindale Hubbell AV rated lawyer, and was selected as a Super Lawyers Alabama Rising Star from 2015-2015, and a Mid-South Rising Star from 2016-2018. In addition to her law practice, Sawyer serves on the Board of Bar Commissioners and Committee for Character and Fitness of the Alabama State Bar, and she presents the Wills, Trusts, and Probate portion of the Alabama Bar Exam. She served on the Houston County Bar Grievance Committee from 2012-2015, and was president of the Houston County Bar Association in 2012.

Sawyer is a graduate of Arkansas Tech University (2000), Troy University (2002), and Cumberland School of Law (2005).
