Search Warrant Lands Two in Jail

HOLMES COUNTY – A search warrant served at a Westville residence Friday, May 8, resulted in two arrests. Investigators with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office executed the warrant at 2484 Cedar Street, detaining 30- year-old Melissa D. Freeman and 45-year-old James A. Leavins, both residents of the home.
During the search, investigators located multiple baggies of methamphetamine, as well as empty baggies used for packaging, digital scales, used syringes, and meth pipes. Leavins, who was on state probation, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, and violation of probation.
Freeman was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
