SEARCH WARRANT NETS LOCAL FOR TRAFFICKING IN METH

GRITNEY- Early Friday morning HCSO deputies executed a search warrant at 2084 Tobe Retherford Rd. Upon arrival contact was made with the owner of the residence Johnny Shelton and a female Courtney Hatfill.

They both were secured, and a search of the residence was conducted. Located in the residence was over two ounces of methamphetamine, heroin, and fentanyl. Also located was a large amount of US currency.

During a search of the property numerous stolen items such as boats, four wheelers, tractor, enclosed trailer, and power tools, were in the woods or on the property.

Shelton stated to investigators that all the drugs was his and the stolen property is what was traded for drugs.

Shelton faces charges of trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of heroin, possession of fentanyl, possession of marijuana, possession of Alprazolam, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Hatfill was arrested and charged with outstanding warrants out of Geneva County.

Investigators are still investigating on where all the stolen property came from and additional charges and more arrests are expected reference to the stolen property.
