HENRY and HOUSTON COUNTY:     What characteristics do you think a Circuit Judge should have?

Today the first candidate tossed his hat in the ring for Place 4, Circuit Court Judge for the 20th Judicial Circuit of Henry and Houston County.

Having served six and one half years as a Prosecutor for the District Attorney's Office for the 20th Judicial Circuit, Seth Brooks announced before a large crowd that he is seeking the Circuit Judgeship.

A post where the Honorable Larry Anderson has served for the past 25 years. Judge Anderson plans to retire at the end of this term of office.

Brooks brings to the race for Judge a large amount of courtroom experience. As an Assistant District Attorney, Seth Brooks has tried criminal and civil cases before most all sitting Judges in this Circuit. He has represented the State of Alabama in traffic cases to capital murder cases where he sought the death penalty in cases.

Brooks has handled civil forfeiture actions. The burden of proof in a criminal case, beyond a reason doubt verses in civil cases the burden is not as high.

Brooks knows what it is to prepare multiple cases for trial not knowing which case will plea and what case will require a trial.

Brooks has studied hard. He is quick to say, do I know everything, no. Have I worked to prepare myself for the undertaking as a Circuit Court Judge? Yes. Will I work hard to serve the 20th Judicial Circuit with honor and integrity? Yes.

Seth is from Dothan Alabama. His dad is a doctor in Dothan. He married Jordan Reeves and his father in law is Tim Reeves who own's Hunt's Restaurant.

To an excited crowd at Hunt's Seth Brooks ask for your vote and support. The election is May 2022 ( NEXT YEAR ). The voters are all of the citizens of Henry and Houston County.
