Sex Abuse Call Lands One in Jail on Multiple Charges

On February 11th the Dale County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of sexual abuse involving minors. Investigators worked quickly and identified the suspect and began the process of locating him.  Based on our preliminary information  we have charged Joseph Edward Cross with (2) counts of Rape 1st and (2) counts of Sexual Abuse of a Child Less than 12 years old. The abuse had occurred over several years and we anticipate additional charges to be filed in the future. Due to the sensitive nature  of the investigation no additional information will be released at this time.
