In early June of 2019 the Sex Offender Compliance Division of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation into registered sex offender Devon Monte Jackson. Jackson was registered as a sex offender in Jackson County but had travelled to California where he had been residing for several months. He failed to notify local authorities of his departure or California authorities of his visit. His case was submitted to the U.S. Marshal Service for adoption on 6-7-19. He was captured earlier in November and extradited back to Jackson County on 11-24-19 to face charges. Sheriff Louis Roberts lll wishes to express the department’s gratitude to the U.S. Marshal Service for their cooperative efforts which lead to the successful capture of this individual.
