DOTHAN-HOUSTON COUNTY:     The criminal trial of Michael Shelley for Burglary in the first degree kicked off in the 20th Judicial Circuit Court this week.

The trial was held before 20th Judicial Circuit Court Judeg John John Steensland. The charge made by Houston County Sheriff Investigator Frank Bissett for the offense of burglary in the first degree.

Michael Shelley was arrested by Houston County Sheriff Department on January 26, 2018. He was held for several days before a bond inthe amount of $ 40,000.00 was set with the stipulation of electronic monitoring. Shelley's bond was made and he was remained free until this week.

After the testimony in the case, which was domestic related between x-husband and x-wife and new husband, the case went to the jury of 12 men and women in Houston County to decide the verdict.

After 1.5 hours of deliberation, the jury of 12 decided there was reasonable doubt and found the defendant, Michael Shelley, represented by Defense Attorney Shaun McGhee, NOT GUILTY.
