DOTHAN-HOUSTON COUNT—KINSEY:     These articles are not written just to write them. They are written to inform you.


5:53 PM.    Female shot 814 Walnut Street, Dothan


6:51 PM.    Shots Fired, 2423 Montgomery Highway, Dothan Food Depot at the corner of Montgomery Highway and Cherokee. Person reporting states six shots fired.


6:52 PM.   Shots fired, 210 West Adams Street. One shot fired, followed then by multiple shots fired.


7:05 PM. Malibu Street in Kinsey. Unknown male subjects shot out of the window of persons vehicle.


7:11 PM. 700 block of North Lena Street, shots fired. Person reporting said at least 8 shots.


This is October 18, 2021 and one hour and fifteen minutes.



What is more important. Several millions for entrance to Water World and artificial turf for ballpark or providing law enforcement with the equipment and manpower to get this under control?


Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall has proven he cares more about bingo then life. Look at Birmingham when the Sheriff said he was more concerned about the shootings then bingo. So Attorney General Steve Marshall formed a task force to raid the bingo hall but no support for the killings.


This is Dothan - Houston County. I for one refuse for it to get like Steve Marshall has allowed Montgomery and Birmingham.


The legislative delegation has vowed to appear at a press conference lined up behind Dothan Police Chief Will Benny, Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza and ALEA Secretary Hal Taylor or local ALEA Command, and all police chiefs of municipalities throughout this county. A press conference pledging their full support to these who lead the brave men and women to combat and stop the crime.


Dothan Mayor Mark Saliba and Houston County Commission Chairman Mark Culver, it is the two of you which have the obligation to organize it and make it happen, along with your commissioners. And to pledge the financial resources needed fro equipment and manpower.


You lack of doing so will display your lack of support.


Since the post last night, a lady has suffered a gunshot to the abdomen and hand. The longer you wait, each second counts, the more blood on yiur hands.
