This week Candidate Firefighters Aydan Tate and Spencer Stokes began Firefighter I/II Recruit School through the Alabama Fire College at the Wiregrass Public Safety Training Center hosted by the Dothan Fire Department. Two of our other employees, Quentin Helms and Jackson Lee, were hired full time by the Dothan Fire Department. These two employees will remain part time and actively volunteer. The candidates will go through 12 weeks of rigorous training to become certified firefighters in the state of Alabama. This morning the recruit class participated in the first Physical Fitness test.

Got to brag a minute. Our son, Spencer just completed the Basic EMT class provided by Dothan Fire. He took his National Registry last Thursday and passed.

That same afternoon Slocomb Fire Lt. Brandon Hovey gave the CPAT ( I think is the name ) test to Spencer. A physical agility course. Spencer passed.

Slocomb Fire - EMS is now putting Spencer through Fire rookie school taught by Dothan Fire.

THANKS to Dothan Fire for teaching the courses. Thanks Slocomb Fire - Rescue for believing in Spencer to put him through the class and his commitment to working with Slocomb Fire - Rescue.
