The month of May is Small Business Month, and RSN is spotlighting those who deserve recognition during this special time.

One small local business owner who deserves recognition is Dennis Chastang of Enterprise.

Chastang owns two small businesses in Enterprise, and he believes that giving back to the local community he loves is an integral part of being a business owner.

He has owned The Craft Bar and Grill located at 1024 Boll Weevil Circle since March of 2019.

In addition, he opened The Social on Main in Downtown Enterprise on Main Street in October of 2021.

Chastang, between the two businesses, employs over 50 people.

He said it took a lot of hard work, time, and lessons learned to build great teams in his two establishments, which are some of the best in the Wiregrass.

When asked what advice he would give to someone thinking about opening a business, he said to remember it is an all-or- nothing mentality. People looking to start must be committed to it and understand that they are only as good as the products they serve and people they hire.

Chastang is super proud of his team at both businesses.  Great customer service, good drinks, and delicious food are three things one is sure to receive when eating out at these two restaurants.

One awesome way Chastang gives back to his community is during Thanksgiving. He hosts his Community Thanksgiving Celebration at The Craft Bar and Grill each year and opens his doors to anyone who is hungry by offering a free traditional Thanksgiving meal.

He also helps his community by donating to help fund local events and sports.

When asked what the most popular dish was, he said it would have to be shrimp and grits at The Craft. For The Social, it would be the short rib with macaroni and cheese.

He assumed the title of The Craft by previous owners, but he decided to name his other restaurant The Social on Main because he wanted it to be a place for friends to meet and enjoy each other’s company; it is located on Main Street which is where the other part of its name comes from.

If you are in or around the Enterprise area, stop by The Craft Bar and Grill for my personal favorite, the ribeye sandwich with loaded tater tots. If you are in Downtown Enterprise, stop by The Social to try a variety of unique dishes and drinks you won’t find anywhere else.

As always—remember to support your local small businesses, especially those like these that give back to the community in return!
