The Bay County Sheriff’s Office announced today the arrest June 08, 2021, of a local sexual offender on new charges relating to the possession of child pornography.
In late April 2021, the sheriff’s office received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) that videos of child pornography were being stored on a Google Photos account. Investigation into the information provided by NCMEC identified the person the account belonged to as Marcus Creel, age 34, from Southport.
Creel is a sexual offender from a 2015, convicted of the charge of Traveling to Meet a Minor for Sexual Activity. Subsequent investigation revealed the Google account, phone number, and address used to access the account were all registered to Creel.
Contact was made with Creel at his residence yesterday, and further information was developed which led to his arrest. Creel was taken to the Bay County Jail where he was charged with 11 counts of Possession of the Sexual Performance of a Child, one count of Failure to Register Social Media as a Sexual Offender, and a Violation of Probation.
