HOUSTON - HENRY COUNTY:    Presiding Circuit Judge for the 20th Judicial Circuit Butch Binford along with Circuit Judges John John Steensland, Chris Richardson, Kevin Moulton, Todd Derek, District Court Judges Lori Ingram, Benjamin Lewis and Derek Peterson cordially invite everyone to a special event. 


The special event is on December 6, 2023 at 1:30 PM in the Houston County Courthouse. The event will be on the 4th floor of the Houston County Courthouse in Room 401.


WHAT IS THE EVENT?


Dothan native William J. Baxley, known by his family and friends as " Bill " served the 20th Judicial Circuit ( Houston and Henry County ) as District Attorney from 1966 to 1971.


Bill Baxley sought election as Alabama Attorney General. The registered voters of the State of Alabama elected the Dothan native as Attorney General. Bill Baxley served the State of Alabama from 1971 to 1979 in that position.


Bill Baxley went on to serve the citizens of the State of Alabama as Lieutenant Governor. The Dothan native served as Lieutenant Governor from 1983 to 1987.


In honor and recognition for his public service as District Attorney, Attorney General and Lieutenant Governor as a Dothan native, the Judges of the 20th Judicial Circuit have a portrait presentation on December 6.


EVERYONE is invited to attend this special presentation honoring Dothan born and raised William J. ( Bill ) Baxley.


Remember entering the Houston County Courthouse you are required to enter through a metal detector. No firearms, pocket knives or weapons of any kind. Allow a few extra minutes to enter through the metal detector.
