Stabbing Suspect in Custody in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY, FLA. :  On Tuesday, June 4, around 5 p.m., Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a residence on Rocky Creek Road where it was reported that a victim had been stabbed with a knife. When deputies arrived at the scene, along with Jackson County Fire Rescue, they saw severe lacerations on the victim’s forearm and a significant amount of blood.


 


In the early stages of the investigation, deputies determined Joseph McDowell to be the suspect. Around 8 p.m., Jackson County Sheriff’s Office investigators made contact with McDowell at a local park, where he did admit to stabbing the victim after a brief verbal altercation.


 


McDowell was arrested and is being charged with Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon.
