Stolen UTV Located

JACKSON COUNTY :On September 6, 2021 at approximately 1:00 p.m. (CST), the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) was notified of a Utility Task Vehicle (UTV) in a ditch south of Highway 231 in Campbellton.
The concerned citizen who made the call to the JCSO, felt as if the vehicle was suspicious due to it being in backwards in the ditch and appeared to be stuck as well as abandoned.
When the JCSO arrived on scene, a deputy was able to make his way to the UTV and provided the description of the side by side back to the Communications Division.
The Communications Division was able to locate a report generated on August 31, 2021, which referenced a stolen side by side matching the description. This information was relayed back to the deputy who was able to confirm it was the same vehicle. The JCSO notified the owner of the vehicle who arrived at the scene a short time later to retrieve his property.
Sheriff Edenfield would like to thank the concerned citizen for reporting the vehicle and encourages other
citizens to contact the JCSO with information on suspicious or criminal activity.
