JACKSON COUNTY, FLA. – On Wednesday, Nov. 20, around 10:30 p.m., deputies were conducting a business check of the Goodwill store when they saw a pickup truck parked behind the business.
Deputies made contact with the driver of the vehicle and the other occupants, one being Keith Custred, and began questioning what they were doing. K-9 Rocky conducted a sniff of the vehicle and made a positive alert to the odor of narcotics.
A search of the vehicle was conducted, and four hypodermic needles were located. A glass smoking pipe was also located on Custred’s person. The hypodermic needles tested positive for methamphetamine and heroin, and the glass smoking pipe tested positive for THC. Custred admitted to deputies that the hypodermic needles and glass smoking pipe were his.
Custred was arrested and transported to Jackson County Correctional Facility. Upon arrival, a search of his person was again conducted and a hard plastic material with methamphetamine residue was located inside his person.
Custred is being charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Introduction of Contraband to a County Detention Facility.
