Suspicious Person Report Lands One in Jail on Drug Charges

WASHINGTON COUNTY, FL:A New Hope, FL man has been arrested on drugs charges following a report of a suspicious person.
On May 12th, Washington County Telecommunications Center received a call in reference to a suspicious person on Miller’s Ferry Rd. in New Hope. WCSO deputies responded to the address and made contact with the resident, Elton Locklear. While speaking with Locklear, deputies observed in plain view two smoking devices and a controlled substance located inside a wooden box. Locklear was detained and a subsequent search was conducted where deputies found him to be in possession of a plastic bag containing methamphetamine and two smoking devices.
Locklear was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
