Swearing In Of Houston County Commission Chairman and Houston County Commission

HOUSTON COUNTY:     At 5:02 PM members of the Houston County Commission and Houston County Commission Chairman received the oath of office from 20th Judicial Circuit Court Judge Larry Anderson.

The oath was administered to D-1 Commissioner Curtis Harvey, now the Senior Member of the Houston County Commission, D-2 Newly Elected Commissioner Tracy Adams, D-3 Re-Elected Houston County Commissioner Ricky Herring, and D-4 Newly Elected Houston County Commissioner James Ivey.

Former D-4 Houston County Commissioner Brandon Shoupe was elected as Chairman of the Houston County Commission. Shoupe and all commissioners received the Oath of Office at the same time.

Mark Culver served as a Houston County Commission Chairman from 1997 to 2022. Prior to 1997 Mark Culver served as the youngest ever elected and first ever elected Republican as a County Commissioner. Today marks the end of service as a Commissioner or Chairman for Mark Culver.

The commissioners are now in place and ready to serve.
