It was on this date 19 years ago that the worst coordinated terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and United Airlines Flight 93 killed nearly 3,000 Americans from all walks of life — and forever altered the course of American history and the New York skyline.
In 102 minutes on what had started out as a beautiful, late summer morning, terrorists destroyed the World Trade Center in one of the most harrowing episodes in history. The attackers crashed hijacked passenger jets into each tower, setting off massive office fires in each building.
Witnesses on the ground watched in horror as trapped victims above the impact zones began leaping to their deaths. Thousands of first responders — police officers, firefighters, paramedics — converged on the World Trade Center to save as many lives as possible.
Today we are all dealing with the Covid-19 Pandemic and the other major problems in our country. Right after 9/11 all First Responders were praised for doing their jobs and doing them proudly.
Today Police are under fire by our young people and firefighters are getting shot at and our paramedics in the back of the ambulances are getting assaulted.
What is it going to take to get this country reunited as Americans? Our country is once again under attack but this time from with inside the country. Our leaders both Republican and Democrat are keeping this country divided and in a recusal stupidity is keeping us from being one under God.
Is it going to take another tragedy to wake Americans up? On 9/11 it didn’t matter what color or sex you were we all were hurting as ONE. We all came together as ONE.
I ask everyone to please think about what has been said and what is going on now. Our future as a country depends on it.
