TAFFIC STOP RESULTS IN TWO ARRESTS

HOLMES COUNTY:On January 22, 2022 a deputy stopped a gold car on Hwy 79 in Bonifay for a traffic infraction. As the deputy approached the vehicle the passenger of the vehicle identified as Cody Campbell and the driver identified as Stephen Savage swapped seats.

Savage stated to the deputy the reason they swapped is that he did not have a driver license. While talking to Savage he stated that there was marijuana in the vehicle. A search of Savage person revealed a small plastic baggy that contained methamphetamine in his pocket. AS the deputy attempted to restrain Savage, he attempted to flee and was quickly apprehended.

A search of the vehicle revealed a pen straw under Campbell’s leg that had meth residue. A plastic baggy containing meth was also located in his jacket pocket along with a marijuana joint.

A Crown Royal bag was in the back seat that contained marijuana and meth.

Both were arrested, Savage was charged with possession of meth, driving while license suspended, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting arrest without violence. Campbell was charged with possession of meth, possession of paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.
