Jerry Lee Lewis’ Cafe on Beale Street in Memphis TN has booked Jeff Golden from Dothan Alabama to perform as The King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley, during Elvis Week on August 15th and 16th. Early in their careers, Presley and Lewis would perform on shows together throughout the south. Golden, who has never met Jerry Lee Lewis (a.k.a. The Killer), is hoping to meet the legend and maybe perform some songs on stage with the now 83 year old entertainer. Golden says, "I have always performed some of Jerry Lee Lewis’ songs in my shows over the years. Whole lotta Shakin Goin On, and Great Balls of Fire are two of his songs that always come to mind. Jerry Lee Lewis is one of the very first real rockers in the history of Rock and Roll. "
If you don’t have plans to be in Memphis the week of August 16, you can still see Golden’s Elvis Tribute Show with his band, The TGB Band, and his backup singers, The Sweethearts, at Ketchem’s Franklin Room downtown Hartford Alabama Friday June 14, 2019. Portions of ticket sales will be donated to the Hartford Baptist Church "SCATTERING SEEDS." The show is a Las Vegas Style show with full production. All ages are welcome and tickets are $15 advance or $20 at the door. Advance tickets may be purchased at Ketchem’s in Hartford or at Hartford Art House, The Scooter Store, Brannon Auto, and at Tate’s. For more information call, 310-801-7892.
