NAPIER FIELD:    Communications is the key to any organization. In emergency services field, communications is "the" key component to emergency services.

The goal is Dale County Sheriff Wally Olson and Dale County Sheriff Chief Deputy Mason Bynum, Ozark - Dale County 911 Director Paula Simmons, the Chairman of Ozark - Dale County 911 Board Frankie Wilson and fellow board members is to have one radio system. Have back up systems in place, but everyone in the law enforcement family in Dale County are dispatched one one central channel, with TAC channels for operations to change to if needed.

Dothan businessman Tim Watson along with the greatest asset in his life, his wife Johnnie Watson, lived in Dale County for many years. The Watsons, who own and operate Home Town Lenders have supported law enforcement and emergency responders.

The Watson's have known of the goal of the Sheriff and 911 Board. And they have wanted to help that become a reality in order to save lives and property.

Dale County law enforcement consists of Napier Field Police Department, Midland City Police Department, Pinckard Police Department, Newton Police Department, Daleville Police Department, Level Plains Police Department and Ozark Police Department.

In the south end of Dale County only Midland City Police Department and Napier Field Police Department operate on different radio systems than the Sheriff Department. Midland City has a full time dispatcher for those two departments. The EMS for South Dale operates through Ozark-Dale County 911 because of Emergency Medical Dispatch requirements.

On Monday Tim and Johnnie Watson made a donation to Napier Field Police Department for        $ 7,500.00. This donation is to assist Napier Field Police Department in becoming a part of the Ozark-Dale County 911 dispatch system.

There is still $ 10,000.00 needed by Napier Field Police Department. Anyone wishing to donate to help Napier Field can make a check payable to Napier Field Police Department and mail to 115 West Troy Street. That is Hometown Lenders Office and Tim or Johnnie Watson will deliver the check to Napier Field Police Department.

That will then leave only Midland City Police Department, Daleville Police Department operating on different radio systems. The Ozark Police Department operates through the Ozark - Dale County 911 Center but on a different radio system.

The Ozark - Dale County 911 Center has the ability, which they use regularly, to cross patch the agencies onto one system.

Tim and Johnnie Watson of Hometown Lenders know the importance of public safety and know how hard all of those involved have worked to make things safer for those in blue and brown. And they work hard to raise money to help agencies out. And they have a desire that when a officer calls for help - everyone listens and rolls.
