Traffic Stop Lands One in Jail on Multiple ChargesMatt Boster

On Tuesday, January7, 2020 a member of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a blackin color DodgeRam on Hwy 90 and Old US (Autozone Parking Lot). The driver who was later identified as Anthony Holden, fled from the scene on foot. The deputy pursued Holden, initiating a foot pursuit.
The short foot pursuit was ended after a successful taser deployment and Holden was taken into custody without incident. Subsequent to arrest, a search of Holden’s person was conducted and revealed a quantity of Methamphetamine packaged for sale/distribution.
Holden was determined to be under State Probation for a previous unrelated incident and did not possess a valid driver’s license.The aforementioned truck, which Holden fled from, contained a quantity of Crack Cocaine and Marijuana located within the driver compartment. Holden was lodged in the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance
