HOLMES COUNTY, FLORIDA: On November 7, deputies with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle pulling a trailer with no taillights or a tag. Contact was made with the driver, Megan Peacock, of Bonifay.
During the traffic stop, K9 Buck conducted a free air sniff of the vehicle which yielded to a positive alert to the presence of illegal narcotics. A probable cause search of the vehicle was done, and it revealed two prescription pill bottles with a name other than Peacock’s.
One bottle contained nonnarcotic pills while the other contained pills identified as Tramadol 50 mg, which is a schedule 4 narcotic.
Peacock was arrested and taken to the Holmes County Jail and faces one charge of possession of a controlled substance.
